Missoni Art Colour

Follow my blog with Bloglovin was a must-see for me as it combines three of my favorite things. Colour, Textiles, and Fashion. (Also the opportunity to enjoy lunch at the venue's cafe at the Fashion and Textile museum , London, with my jewellery designer friend Sarah Lindsay)

Inspiration for my semi-precious jewellery collections always starts with colour and colour stories. It was interesting to see how Missoni plays with colour, stripe, pattern and texture and how Modernist art has been a major influence. As a former knitwear designer I was particularly interested in how a simple stripe design can be reworked in so many ways, with colour, texture and material. I'm currently exploring how I can introduce more textile elements into my jewellery.

The Missoni Art Colour exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum showcases over 60 years of fashion alongside paintings by leading 20th century European artists, and previously unseen textile studies and paintings by Ottavio Missoni. Artworks by Sonia Delaunay, Lucio Fontana and Gino Severini are also on display. It finishes on 4th September 2016, so there is still plenty of time to visit.
